Pelagianism is dangerous to the church and darkens the grace of God.
Mild Football Fever
I gotta admit I am getting mild football fever already. I am getting excited for football season again. Every year I hope the Bengals do better… and every year I am rather disappointed… although 2005 was a good year… a refreshing year.¬†
I am looking forward to watching Carson Palmer throw some touchdowns this year. Hopefully everyone is healthy and ready to roll. The suspense kinda builds as you see the craziness of free agency and all of the team moves in the offseason and then the NFL draft comes in April and then training camp and then BOOM… you’re tackling, jukin, jivin, and knockin people’s blocks off.
Avocado week
I think avocados are pretty interesting food. They have a lot going for them… and no I am not obsessed. It just has been avocado week around here… around me. So in that light I wrote a “What To Do About EATING AVOCADOS”¬†at WhatToDoAbout.com
Ripen that avocado
Just in case you were wondering how to ripen an avocado faster:
If your avocados need ripening you can place them in a paper bag that will trap the ethylene gas they produce and speed up the ripening process. You can add a tomato, apple, or banana which will speed up the process even more. Avocados turn darker and start to get soft (not too soft). Also if the pit rattles or moves when you shake it… then it is overripe and you are a sucker for buying it. I have been a sucker before.¬†
Just in case you were wondering.
“I will be even more undignified than this”
II Samuel 6
I love how David danced before the Lord with all his might when the ark of the Lord was being brought to Jerusalem. When his wife Michal saw it she despised him and said he looked like one of the fools who uncovers himself in front of all of the maids. His response was what struck me so much.
“I will be even more undignified than this and will be humble in my own sight.”…
He meant “I will be more vile than this” or “I will degrade myself even more than this” or “I will do worse than this” or “I will humiliate myself more than this”. That is an impressive attitude… I think it is repulsive when it is not done for the Lord God and yet when done for Him, it is wonderful. He humbled himself and worshipped the Lord with all his might.
“Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death”
